Last Day of School

The kids are out of school! It's amazing how quickly this school year flew by. Both have grown and learned so much. We feel very blessed. They both had awesome teachers who helped them every step of the way. Konnor is fully ready for kindergarten now. He can write his entire name (including his middle name!) and knows all he needs to know for kindergarten. Kaylee amazed us with her academics this year - she is reading at almost a 5th grade level. She also did well on the CRCT missing only one question out of 150. She is excited about 2nd grade - although was very sad to not have her teacher anymore. She is moving to Atlanta and so she won't be at the school next year. That was hard on Kaylee - who cried for about two hours after school was over last Friday. Her teacher promised to stay in touch though - and that was the only thing that finally helped her feel better.

Here are the kids before school on the last day.

Walking to the school bus for the last time this year...

Kenna and I went to the school to help with the end of the year party. Kenna found the (play) mop and started mopping Konnor's head!

We had a "luau" theme - here's Konnor with his lei and treats.

The kids went outside and blew bubbles, drew with sidewalk chalk and enjoyed the (hot) weather.

Next up: Kindergarten!

It's tradition to take a picture outside by the school marquee each year on the last day! So here is our 2007-2008 picture!

So cute! It's really sad when the kids cry about their teachers! Sydney's teacher is retiring, Syd made us both cry too!
