10 (blissful) years!

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on Aug 27th! 10 years. Blissful years. Okay, maybe there were some moments of un-bliss (maybe!) but for the most part, life has been awesome and we feel very blessed! In 10 years, we have welcomed four cute kids into our family. We have also lived in Colo Springs, San Antonio and now Georgia. Kendahl has always had a steady job through the years, and we have made and kept so many wonderful friends! Life can't be better!

For our anniversary, we decided to do something we've never been able to do before: get away without the kids! Mary said she'd watch ALL four kids (even the baby!) so we took her up on it. We decided to go see the sights of Savannah since we both have been wanting to go there! What a fun, quaint little town! We had a great time and are grateful to Mary for being so brave (she watched 6 kids all weekend - our four and her two!) We walked ALL over seeing all of the sights. It was hot and humid - but not unbearable. And a great way to spend our 10th anniversary together!

On the river... there were tons of huge boats! It was fun to watch them go up and down the river.

There were some pretty yummy places to eat! I love seafood - so I was in heaven!

We walked and found the cemetary - it is full of history. This was a "duelist's" grave so Kendahl got very serious ... as you might be able to tell.

Kendahl on River Street. It was full of little shops and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the candy shops where you could get free samples. We went in and out of those OFTEN. :)

The steps leading up to the Bed & Breakfast where we stayed. It was built back in the 1800s and not much has changed since it was built! It was really cool. They also had delicious warm breakfasts in the morning and warm chocolate chip cookies and milk at night in the living room!

We took a tour trolley around to hear the history. While we were on it, the trolley hit a parked car while turning a corner! You can see the damage in this picture right above the wheel. The funny thing was that our driver didn't seem to care much! He just had me take down the license number of the car (because I was at the back and could see it) and then kept on driving! It must happen all of the time or something (the streets are one way and aren't exactly wide). It was a great tour, though. We learned lots of interesting info!

I just loved this church. There was some sort of history behind it - but I can't remember. Something about it being the first church there - or something or other.

There are TONS of parks (or what they call "squares") every block and each is named after someone who had something to do with Savannah or Georgia. This one was "Johnson Square" - we thought that was pretty awesome - a square named after us! (Okay, or maybe someone else...)
